How Legit Wear works

We look at your photos the way a professional authenticator would, detail by detail, and only draw conclusions the evidence supports.

What we check

  • Shape and proportions

The overall outline and how the parts sit together.

  • Materials and texture

Leather grain, fabric weave, plastic finish, print quality.

  • Stitching

How even, straight and dense it is, and where it starts and ends.

  • Logos and branding

Font, spacing, letter shapes, placement, embroidery and engraving.

  • Labels and tags

Fonts, print sharpness, layout, codes, care symbols.

  • Codes and serials

Whether the format is valid and matches across item, box and receipt.

  • Hardware

Zips, rivets, buckles and their stamping and finish.

  • Colourway and release

Whether this version and colour actually exist.

  • Packaging

Box shape, print, labels, inserts and seals.

  • Model-specific details

The known differences for that exact product.

  • Consistency

Whether everything agrees: dates, codes, colours and model.

  • The listing itself

Price, stock photos, and common scam warning signs.

Some things can't be checked from photos at all, like weight, smell or sound. When they matter, we say so rather than guess.

How we decide

We use AI image analysis to describe exactly what can be seen in each photo. Separate, fixed rules then turn those observations into a verdict, so the same evidence always gets the same answer. Anything that looks like proof of a fake is checked a second time by asking whether the item could still be genuine. If that second look disagrees, we treat it as a concern, not proof.

Three clear answers

Every check ends with one of three answers, decided by our rules, not by the AI:

Authentic
Every key detail on our checklist for that item is clearly visible and matches an authentic item. We only give this for items where we hold enough reference material: facts confirmed against their sources, or our own photos of a genuine one to compare with.
Fake
At least one clear error that an authentic item doesn't have, confirmed by a second, sceptical check. We show you the proof.
Unable to verify
Some key details are missing, unclear or need a closer look. We tell you exactly which photos we need.

This is Legit Wear's opinion based on the photos provided. It is not a guarantee of authenticity.

Buying, or selling something you own

Buying? Check the listing photos or screenshots, and if something's missing we'll write a message asking the seller for it. Own the item? We ask for a photo of every key detail. If it's authentic, you get an Assessment Certificate with a public page where buyers can see your original photos and compare them with your listing.

Stay protected

Legit Wear gives an assessment from photos, not a guarantee. Always pay through the platform's own checkout so you keep buyer protection. If you're unsure, ask the seller for more photos rather than accusing them.
